For white shoe law firms, achieving partner-level status can still be difficult for Black attorneys. Kevin Woodson is a sociologist and professor of law at the University of Richmond School of Law. He joins guest host Courtney Collins to discuss the barriers to success for Black workers in white collar industries – from leadership out of touch with other cultures and classes, to the outsized pressure to perform. His book is “The Black Ceiling: How Race Still Matters in the Elite Workplace.”
