A scientific case for spirituality

There is documented science supporting the benefits of searching for higher purpose. Lisa Miller is a professor in the clinical psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University, and founder and director of the Spirituality Mind Body Institute. She joins host Krys Boyd to discuss why prayer, mindfulness, even nature walks, open us up to improved brain function, resilience and, ultimately, better health. Her book is called “The Awakened Brain: The New Science of Spirituality and Our Quest for an Inspired Life.”
