Jacqueline R Rifkin is assistant professor of marketing at the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. She joins host Krys Boyd to discuss why setting aside small pleasures for a future moment means we are actually harming our future-selves – and why a little indulgence is good for our mental health. Her article “The Downside of Delayed Gratification” was published in The Wall Street Journal.
