What does the census tell us about our democracy?

The U.S. Census uses data to tell the story of America. Dan Bouk is an associate professor of history and chair of the Department of History at Colgate University. He joins host Krys Boyd to discuss his examination of the 1940 Census, which both set the stage for New Deal politics and divided the nation after World War II. His book is “Democracy’s Data: The Hidden Stories in the U.S. Census and How to Read Them.”
