The America we know today is perhaps not primarily the work of the Founding Fathers but rather those who put the country back together following the Civil War. Kermit Roosevelt III, professor of Constitutional law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, joins guest host John McCaa to discuss how Abraham Lincoln’s vision of America and the Reconstruction period that followed served as a course correction. His book is “The Nation That Never Was: Reconstructing America’s Story.”
