As a boy, Louis Chude-Sokei grew up in Africa, Jamaica and Los Angeles – three places with distinct Black cultures. He’s now director of the African American studies program at Boston University, and he joins host Krys Boyd to talk about his journey to understand his place in the Black diaspora. His book is called “Floating in a Most Peculiar Way: A Memoir.”
