Gender Equality At Work

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states that it’s illegal to discriminate “because of sex.” This hour, we’ll talk about how that simple phrase has armed American women in court as they’ve fought for their rights with Gillian Thomas, a senior staff attorney with the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project. Her book is called “Because of Sex: One Law, Ten Cases, and Fifty Years That Changed American Women’s Lives at Work” (St. Martin’s Press).
