The power of statues for those who take them down

Many statues honoring controversial figures have been torn down in recent years  — a practice that goes back millennia. Samuel Biagetti is a historian and host of the “Historiansplaining” podcast. He joins host Krys Boyd to discuss the historical patterns of iconoclasm, why its performed primarily by elites, and why he thinks hyper-liberal forces are using it to channel a new kind of rage. His article in American Affairs is “Iconoclasm of the Vanities: Why We Are Destroying Statues.”
